So Cold!

Brrr, it's so cold out there. Unfortunately, we will have to cancel today. :( I don't want to treat anyone for hypothermia. A makeup day will be held this Friday. See you all tomorrow.

Hey everyone! So sorry for the confusion. I thought I had talked to everyone about swimming lesson times. I apologize if I left you hanging not knowing what time your classes were. Here they are:

Please park on the road, walk up the driveway and go straight to the backyard through the gate. Feel free to play and have fun, but please stay out of the garden areas and do not pick the fruit. How much do you charge?

$40 for one session which is 8 half hour lessons.

How do I sign up?

Let me know you are interested by text, email, or phone. Spots are reserved once you send or bring payment.

What days do you teach?

Monday -Thursday. Fridays are reserved for rain make-up days or if there is a holiday.

How long are the classes?

30 minutes

What ages do you teach?

3 and up

How many are in a class?

It depends on the age, but no more than 5-7. Less in the younger classes and more in the older classes.

How does it work?

After all the children are signed up, I place them in classes based on experience and age. Then I try to arrange classes so that siblings are back to back. This means that exact class times are not given until I arrange the schedule. More about the time of day will be given later. Usually between the hours of 1 and 3:30pm.

What do I need to bring to my lesson?

A swimsuit and towel. Remember to put on sunscreen. Goggles are optional. If you decide to get them, buy good quality goggles that they will not have to constantly adjust and empty water out of them. Also, make sure that the swimsuit does not have floaties built into it.

Can parents watch?

Yes, you may watch. If your child is highly distracted by you, try to stay out of sight. The pool is fenced and the yard is fenced so other siblings are welcome to watch or play while waiting.

Do you teach adults?

Yes.

Do you teach private lessons?

I prefer to teach the group lessons, but I can do private lessons if there is a specific need.

Hello my name is Debbie welcome to my blog. One of my passions is teaching children how to swim. Being a mother of 4 children I know form experience how kids love swimming. I've now been teaching lessons for over 15 years, and I love to teach.

I love to see my students get excited about swimming and what they are capable of accomplishing. I love trying to inspire them to be the best they can be. It is so rewarding. I love knowing that they have been taught what to do in an emergency.

They learn how to help others and keep themselves safe while doing it. They know when to get help and how it get it. It is great.”

I love teaching in a private pool because I am not locked into teaching specific levels. I am able to work with each child and teach them things that go beyond what they are “supposed” to be learning.

If a class learns everything for one level in the first couple days then we move on to new things. If I have a group of ambitious 5 and 6-year-olds that want to learn diving, we learn it.

Things to remember about the Pool and Yard

Please clean up after yourself. There are garbage and recycle cans right by the lesson area.

Please respect the yard where the lessons take place. Watch your children

Don't allow your children to pick flower tops or throw fruit from the garden.

Remember the hoses and sprinklers will go off they are set for certain areas so please make sure that your children are not playing with them. It can be a hazard for the owners and It is usually not discovered until things are dying and they are not sure why.
