How Parents can Help Their child to Learn How to Swim

Now that the summer has ended parents often ask how they can continue to help their child become a better swimmer and enjoy and grow after the lessons. Here are a few tips to remember.

Remember that practice, practice, practice is a good rule of thumb. But also remember the following tips as a parent.

Children learn best by playing and having fun.

Provide opportunities for them to have supervised practice time and play time in water as often as you can, even if it is only in the tub.

Be positive about their progress, and praise them often.

Remember that each child develops coordination and skills on their own timetable. So be patient and don't push them. Some things cannot be hurried.

So in the meantime, have them keep practicing and getting better and help them realize what they are capable of learning in time.
